A newly released animated film titled Evaluation: Building Trust, Driving Impact aims to enhance the World Health Organization’s internal culture of evaluation and highlight the crucial role that this process plays across all areas of the Organization.

This concise video helps clarify the purpose of evaluations by breaking down misconceptions and emphasizing their importance in promoting learning, accountability, openness, and continuous improvement. In contrast to audits, which typically focus on rule compliance, evaluations explore the effectiveness of strategies, assess areas needing refinement, and support smarter resource use.

The animation underscores that evaluation is a shared, strategic activity aimed at informing decisions, identifying successful practices, and improving planning processes—especially at the national level. With thorough, objective reviews, evaluations reinforce confidence among Member States, donors, and partners by showcasing value for money and enhancing program outcomes.
